qEEG Brainwave Recording

A qEEG recording is a non-invasive technique that involves the placement of electrodes on the scalp to measure electrical activity in the brain.

Why do we use a qEEG?

The quantitative EEG allows us to see patterns of dysfunction that identify varying disorders of the brain, such as learning and behavioral issues, emotional disorders, brain injury, and others. The qEEG done on each patient provides us with a map that guides each individually tailored treatment.

What can we see?

  • Brainwave imbalances (e.g., too much or too little activity in certain areas)
  • Overactive or underactive regions of the brain
  • Connectivity between brain regions
  • Markers of conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, TBI, and more
  • Cognitive performance indicators, such as focus, memory, and processing speed
  • Effects of past trauma or injury on brain function
